  • 11/02/2021 - Valle Crucis Historic Preservation Committee Meeting

    The Valle Crucis Historic Preservation Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at 5:30 pm.  The meeting will be located in the Gymnasium at Valle Crucis Elementary School located at 2998 Broadstone Road, Sugar Grove, North Carolina.

  • 11/02/2021 - Cancellation of Meeting Notice

    The Watauga County Board of Commissioners’ Board Room serves as an official voting place on Election Day.  Due to the date of the election as well as a scheduling conflict for County staff and Board members, the Watauga County Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 2, 2021, has been cancelled.

     

    Therefore, the Watauga County Board of Commissioners will hold only one regular meeting in November which is scheduled for Tuesday, November 16, 2021, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Commissioners’ Board Room in the Watauga County Administration Building located at 814 West King Street, Boone, North Carolina.  For information or questions, please call (828) 265-8000.

    THE WATAUGA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING AT 5:30 P.M. ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2021, IN THE COMMISSIONERS’ BOARD ROOM IN THE WATAUGA COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING LOCATED AT 814 WEST KING STREET, BOONE, NORTH CAROLINA.  THE PURPOSE OF THE HEARING SHALL BE TO RECEIVE PUBLIC COMMENT ON THE PROPOSED SCHEDULE OF VALUES.  INTERESTED PARTIES ARE ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND.  FOR INFORMATION OR QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL (828) 265-8000.

  • 11/16/2021 - Public Hearing Notice - Planning & Development Ordinance

    The Watauga County Board of Commissioners will hold a legislative public hearing at 5:30 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2021 to consider proposed amendments to the Planning & Development Ordinance. The purpose of the amendments is to bring the ordinance into compliance with changed federal and NC laws and rules. Specifically, the Erosion and Sedimentation Control, Flood Damage Prevention, and Watershed Protection regulations, as well as applicable definitions must be brought into compliance with model ordinances provided by the overseeing NC agencies. Optional amendments included in the Flood Damage Prevention and Watershed Protection model ordinances are also being considered upon recommendation of the Watauga County Planning Board.  Please click HERE to view those proposed amendments.
