POSITION OPENING
Watauga County is accepting applications for the position of 911 Services Coordinator. Position performs advanced technical work in maintaining E-911 databases, assisting in site visits to resolve addressing problems, producing a variety of reports, coordinating telecommunications service and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) provision, and related work as apparent or assigned. Duties include assigning addresses to all new residences and businesses, maintaining county address database, resolving address issues, updates to 911 computer aided dispatch, preparing road names for public hearings, preparation of annual 911 budget, and serves as the administrator and vendor maintenance point of contact for CAD, CAD mapping and phone systems. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, or related field and moderate experience working with GPS is required. Special requirements for position include basic GIS course, experience with ESRI’s ArcMap Software, and current certification as an Emergency Number Profession, or ability to obtain.
