POSITION OPENING
Watauga County Planning & Inspections Department is accepting applications for the regular position of Code Enforcement Officer (Building Inspector). Position is responsible for performing plans review and building inspections of construction projects in Watauga County. Must hold or be able to attain standard certifications from the NC Code Officials Qualification Board in all four (4) building trades. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable experience in building construction is required. Preference will be given to holders of NC standard inspection certificates. Possession of valid NC driver’s license is required. Salary grade 13-16, $38,707-47,460 depending on qualifications.
