POSITION OPENING
The Watauga County Tax Administration Office is accepting applications for the position of Tax Mapper I. Under regular supervision, position performs responsible skilled work in the preparation and maintenance of real property maps and records. Duties include preparing and updating tax maps and records; preparing and working with tax maps and new parcels of land; conducting deed researches; plotting deeds; assisting the public and other departments; and other duties as assigned or required by supervisor. Position requires general knowledge of the principles, practices, techniques and equipment of tax mapping as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public. Graduation from high school supplemented by course work in drafting and some experience in tax mapping or any equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Salary grade 4, $30,131.
