POSITION OPENING
Watauga County Parks and Recreation is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Director. Duties include planning, organizing and directing athletic programs; supervising game officials, volunteers and coaches; maintaining records and files; and preparing reports. Position supervises all division personnel. Position requires a thorough knowledge of sports such as baseball, softball, football and basketball and some knowledge of other sports; and thorough knowledge of modern principles and practices of recreation and physical education. Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in recreation or a related field and some experience in supervising community or group recreation activities and staff, or any equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Certified Park and Recreation Professional preferred. County benefit package includes health insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Salary Grade 10, $42,318.
