POSITION OPENING
Watauga County Maintenance Department is accepting applications for the position of Custodian I. This position is full time between the hours of 6:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Primary duties include dusting, sweeping, mopping, washing windows, vacuuming floor surfaces, cleaning bathrooms and emptying trash. Position may be responsible for opening or closing County buildings and parks, and inspecting for safety or maintenance problems. Position may also perform minor maintenance tasks to assist in the repairing of County facilities. Some experience in custodial work, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities, is preferred. Some weekend work may be required. Position requires possession of a valid driver’s license. County benefit package includes health insurance, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave.
